Antique bronze bookends, entitled Duex Methodes. Silver on Bronze Bookends circa 1928, Duex Methodes is French for "two methods". Shows two ways of doing things, either at a snail's pace or full speed ahead in a Bugatti styled sports car. Each measures 4 and one half inches long 3 inches wide and 4 and one quarter inches high.

Casted Bronze F Gornik Cigar Ashtray measures 8 and one quarter inches by 6 and one half inches and is 4 inches high at the highest point. Friedrich Gornik Austrian B 1877 D 1943. He studied sculpture at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. He did work for porcelain factories in Austria depicting small animals later having them cast in bronze. Signed F Gornik with a AR foundry mark.Gornik was an excellent sculptor and his works well regarded. This casted bronze ashtray has two birds which can be seen in more detail in the accompanying photographs.
